MOVE OUT FAQs
What should I do if I’m selling my home and currently have propane service?
Please contact us as soon as possible to let us know your move-out date. This helps us coordinate final billing, account updates, and service transfer information for the new homeowner.
How much notice should I give before moving?
We recommend contacting us at least 7–14 days before closing or your move-out date whenever possible.
Will my propane service automatically transfer to the new homeowner?
No. The new homeowner will need to contact us directly to establish service in their name.
What information should I provide when moving out?
Move-out/closing date, property address, forwarding address, best contact number, and buyer/realtor info if available.
What happens to propane remaining in the tank?
Remaining propane is typically negotiated between buyer and seller during closing. Discuss this with your realtor or closing attorney.
Will I receive a final bill?
Yes. Once your account is finalized, you may receive a final invoice or a refund if there is a credit balance.
Do I need to disconnect propane appliances before moving?
No. Leave all propane appliances and equipment connected unless instructed otherwise by a licensed professional.
What if the home will be vacant for a period of time?
Please let us know if the property will be vacant so we can note the account and discuss any service considerations.
What happens if the propane tank is company-owned?
Company-owned tanks typically remain at the property to continue servicing the home.
Can I keep the same propane provider after moving?
If your new home is within our service area, we’d love the opportunity to continue serving you.

Please contact us before or shortly after closing to establish service in your name.
What information will I need to start service?
Property address, closing/move-in date, contact and billing information, and appliance information if available.
Will there already be propane in the tank?
In many cases, yes—remaining propane is often negotiated between buyer and seller during closing.
Can I continue using propane immediately after moving in?
In most cases, yes, though some situations may require account setup, safety inspection, or leak check.
Will someone need to be home for service setup?
An adult over 18 may need to be present for certain inspections or service visits.
What happens if the propane tank is empty?
If the tank has run out or lost pressure, a leak check and system inspection may be required before service resumes.
How do I know if I should choose Automatic Delivery or Will Call?
Automatic Delivery monitors usage and schedules deliveries; Will Call requires you to watch your gauge and call around 30%.
At what tank percentage should I call for propane delivery?
For Will Call customers, we recommend ordering when your tank reaches about 30%.
What if I’m unsure how the propane system works?
Our team can explain tank ownership, gauge readings, appliance usage, delivery options, safety, and billing plans
